Blackie on his Birthday

Happy Autumn!

Gardening Winding Down & Recipe for Homemade Tomato Sauce

Tomato Pasta Sauce Recipe Tomatoes rippening on the window sill.

Well, it's that time of year when the pumpkins in the their patch are all nice and orange and patiently waiting to be picked, shined up and sent to their new designated homes. It's also a sure sign of transition from gardening to other endeavours. So gracefully we go.

Weeding And Planting in the Garden

Usually the Danger of Frost has passed by this date.

The radishes, lettuce and onions were planted at the beginning of May. They are fine for cooler spring weather planting.
Pumpkins, cucumbers, peas, sunflowers and corn should be planted this week.
The tomato and cherry tomato seedlings are planted now. They are started indoors as early as February.

Black Has Fangs He is A Vampire Cat

Here is Blackie on his birthday which happens to be on Halloween. We do have a party for him but unfortunety it is bitter sweet as he is not allowed outside past six pm. His normal curfew is ten pm. He is cool with that. Not so cooperative with the six o'clock time as it is such a purrfect night out for a vampire cat like himself.

Not so subtle of a sign autumn is right around the corner...

For all the friends who are suffering with extreme high temperatures you are a true inspiration. My winters put me through the same sort of exasperation. May our worlds collide.
