Hello,
Finally a trip to the canal for some skating!! The temperature outside was -2 . Very welcoming weather for a not-so-busy Wednesday skate. I was out relatively early and the ice conditions were good. I had the whole canal to myself.

My destination was downtown as I needed to do some shopping. I also was looking forward to the new huts. I've heard they were $750,000 each. They need to be built to last considering they are being taken on and off the ice every year. They should last 40 years. I certainly was delighted and others were enjoyng the luxury as well. Not to mention tourists who should have 'fancy' huts. They are heated, spacious and very modern in reflection to the newly renovated Convention Centre overhead in the downtown location.
The only problem with these pictures is the camera setting was on "baby" by accident so these are not high quality pictures. You can't zoom in as they loose there focus/quality. I thought they were still worth posting though. I was looking forward to writing more in this story anyways as it was an eventful day.
After my skate I headed to the market for some shopping. One of the Chateau Laurier:

I thought the fishing hut signage was pretty interesting.
